It’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated y’all with what I’ve been up to, so I thought today would be the perfect time for a little life lately post. If you’re new around here, don’t worry! This is only the second time I post one. My Life Lately posts are like a coffee date with friends, just chit-chatting about the latest happenings of life. And since we’re all friends here, not much is off limits 😉 So let’s get started…
I took a bit of a sabbatical from social media in March and I enjoyed nearly every second of it. Not constantly having a phone in my face trying to take the perfect picture to post made everyday things so much better. I felt much more present. There’s a big part of me that loves social media. But there’s also a big part of me that gets quite anxious because of social media. My sweet little blog is still very much in its infancy, and I love that. But I’m a recovering perfectionist and while I don’t have thousands of followers, I still take everything I do really seriously and want to put out the best content that I can. Fortunately the remedy for this kind of anxiety is somewhat easy – limit social media use. This is also challenging since Instagram is a big part of how I communicate with a lot of y’all. I’m working on finding balance here. #gracenotperfection
The Houston Rodeo was this past month and it’s becoming one of my favorite times of year in Texas! Here in Houston, the rodeo is a major event and it’s so much fun getting all dressed up in my rodeo best and heading to NRG. One of my favorite parts about rodeo is the fashion. I absolutely love walking around the arena checking out what all the cowboys and cowgirls are wearing — people go all out! I have my rodeo getup down to a simple equation. Cute dress + Cowboy boots + BIG earrings = Rodeo ready! I was lucky enough to attend the rodeo twice and saw both Thomas Rhett and Chris Young perform. Both were so, so good! I had the best time and absolutely cannot wait for next year. Have y’all heard the big news… two words y’all – GARTH BROOKS.
I’m slowly (but surely) getting back into my workout habit. I had a bit of a streak going in March but broke it a few times due to this or that. I’m really trying to focus on overall wellness this year. Everything from physical health to mental health and everything in between. And working out and eating healthy is a major part of that. Here’s to drinking more water and getting those steps in, anyone with me??
