White linens are my love language. No, really they are. From my bath and kitchen towels to my bed linens, it’s white on white on white. And it makes me SO happy. I love how clean and classic it looks. There’s something subtly elegant about it. And the fact that it makes me feel ever-so-slightly like an adult that has it together doesn’t hurt either 😉
About two years ago I made the move to all white bed linens and I’ve never looked back! And I don’t have plans to stray anytime soon. Having totally monochrome bedding can seem a little blahh, so to keep things interesting, I like to layer various textures of bedding in the same shade of white. I feel like this gives the room a little more dimension and variety.
Another “adulty” element of my bed linens is the addition of my monogram on my sheet sets. My sister has an embroidery machine and very graciously monograms my sheet sets whenever I’m in town. This is such a simple change, but makes my linens feel so much more luxurious and special. If you’re ever unsure if you should monogram something, keep this in mind “if it isn’t moving, monogram it” 😉
For the longest time I had fashioned a throw pillow from an antique French grain sack, but lately I’ve become a bit tired of it and started searching for an update. And that’s when I stumbled upon Southern Linen and fell head over heels for all things monogrammed with appliques! I mean, how could you not?
I went back and forth over whether I should order a single throw pillow sham or two Euro pillow shams. I finally settled on the Euro pillow shams. The shop offers tons of color combos, but I opted for a simple white on white. #basic Also communicating with the shop owner was a breeze! Emily is super responsive and helped me make my decision before I placed my order. She even sent me an example picture of the color combo I was considering. The shams arrived in the mail last week and I absolutely love them! They are the perfect update to my bedroom. I love how a little change can have such a big impact on the space!
